Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad

Damascus (IP): Recent developments in the West Bank and Gaza have revived the Palestinian cause, the Syrian foreign minister said.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to Al-Mayadin on Monday, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad congratulated the Palestinian people on their victory and stated that the gates of Damascus have always been open to the Palestinians.

MeKdad appreciated the support of Iran and Russia in resolving the problems and returning the situation in Syria to normal, saying that Turkey had made the worst interventions in Syria.

Faisal Mekdad stating the fact that the United States has stolen Syrian wealth and supported terrorist groups added:” The embassies of some countries have been reopened in Damascus and others will be reopened in the coming days. And we will not allow the United States to prevent the reopening of the Western embassy in Damascus.”

The Syrian Foreign Minister went on to say that it is the Syrian people who are sending their message through the election and that millions of people went to the polls in Damascus and the capitals of the world to say that they support their country.

Syrian presidential election is scheduled for May 26.
