The World Nomad Games, founded in 2014, serve as a cultural and sporting festival celebrating traditional nomadic sports, particularly those of the Turkic peoples of Central Asia. Organizers reported that athletes from 104 countries have registered for this year's edition, which runs through September 6.
Events include horseback archery, traditional wrestling, and board games rooted in nomadic Central Asian cultures. The Games are recognized by UNESCO as an effective tool for intercultural dialogue and the preservation of traditional sports and identities.
