Referring to the recent U.S. strike on Larak Island and the complicity of certain regional states in facilitating such attacks, Baqaei asserted that the persistence of these hostilities will inevitably exacerbate insecurity across the Strait of Hormuz and the broader region.
He further emphasized that Iran has delivered and will continue to deliver a decisive defensive response to the origins of these aggressions.
Baqaei clarified that the U.S. assault on Larak does not represent an isolated incident but rather a recurring pattern of military intervention.
“This is not normalization; it is a statement of fact. The Islamic Republic of Iran has, in turn, issued a firm response to this act of military aggression,” he stated.
The spokesperson cautioned against the escalating consequences of continued U.S. and Israeli operations, noting that insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz has markedly intensified since February 28, coinciding with the commencement of joint military incursions.
He stressed that ongoing naval blockades, sustained economic sanctions, and strikes on Iranian infrastructure—including facilities along the southern coastline—will systematically broaden instability throughout the region.
Baqaei also addressed prior commitments made by several regional countries to prevent the United States from utilizing their territories or logistical capabilities for operations against Iran.
“Despite assurances and pledges from certain states to block U.S. access to their land and resources for strikes on Iran, we have unfortunately witnessed clear breaches of those commitments,” he remarked.
He confirmed that the attacks on Larak originated from the territory of some regional nations, and that Iran has proportionally targeted the sources of those assaults with defensive countermeasures.
