The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan in a statement on Tuesday night condemned the terrorist attack on the Wazir Akbar Khan Mosque in Kabul.

Iran Press/Iran News: Condemning the terrorist attack, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan expressed its condolences to the government and people of Afghanistan and the families of the victims of the attack.

Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi also in a statement on Wednesday strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Wazir Akbar Khan Mosque in Kabul.

A bomb exploded inside a mosque in the Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday, killing two people, including the mosque's prayer leader, and wounding two others.

Mullah Mohammad Ayaz Niazi, a well-known cleric who was Friday prayer leader at the mosque, was one of two people killed in the attack.

No one claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack, but the Daesh terrorist group has been active in Kabul in recent weeks and has in the past carried out attacks inside mosques in Afghanistan.
