During the meeting, which was also attended by Kazem Jalali, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Moscow, as well as members of the political-security delegations of both countries, Ali Baqeri-Kani and Qasim Al-Araji discussed bilateral, regional, and international issues.
The Deputy for International Affairs at Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretariat is also scheduled to meet Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Security Council.
Other planned engagements for Ali Baqeri-Kani in Moscow include negotiations and consultations with senior security officials from BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states, as well as the heads of security delegations from Afghanistan, Brazil, Pakistan, South Africa, Switzerland, and Thailand.
On Thursday, Ali Baqeri-Kani will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony of the 14th International Security Meeting of Russia.
More than 140 high-level security delegations from 120 countries are participating in the four-day international security forum in Russia.
During the 14th annual international meeting of high-ranking security officials, six multilateral meetings will also be held within the frameworks of BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, ASEAN, Central Asia, the Sahel countries of Africa, and a special meeting for African countries.
In addition, 21 events—including roundtables, conferences, expert panels, and strategic meetings—as well as 25 specialized industrial exhibitions, will be held on the sidelines of this year’s summit.
It is also expected that 10 agreements and memorandums of understanding will be signed between Russia’s Security Council Secretariat and federal executive bodies during the forum.
