Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of the Army Staff of Pakistan, arrived in Tehran on Friday for a series of consultations concerning the ongoing Iran-U.S. negotiations aimed at bringing an end to the imposed war against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

On Saturday, Munir held separate meetings with senior Iranian officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

Following his meeting with President Pezeshkian — attended also by Foreign Minister Araghchi — the Pakistani army chief met separately with Ghalibaf before holding another round of consultations with the Iranian foreign minister.

During his meeting with Munir, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf reaffirmed Iran’s uncompromising position on issues related to national sovereignty and national interests.

“We will never compromise on the rights of our nation and our country, particularly with a party that has demonstrated neither honesty nor trustworthiness,” Ghalibaf stated.

He added that the Islamic Republic had defended the country decisively on the battlefield and would pursue the same determination in diplomacy.

“Just as the Islamic Republic of Iran defended the nation courageously and powerfully on the battlefield, it will also act wisely and resolutely on the diplomatic front to safeguard Iran’s legitimate rights and national interests,” he said.

Highlighting the role of armed forces in preserving peace and national dignity, Ghalibaf remarked: “Military personnel understand the value of peace better than anyone else, but they will never allow the honor and rights of their country to be violated.”

Referring to previous negotiations with Washington, the Iranian parliament speaker said: “We were engaged in negotiations when the United States launched the war, and now it claims it seeks negotiations to end it. We were in a ceasefire — with Pakistan serving as mediator — yet the United States violated its commitments, imposed a naval blockade, and is now seeking a way to lift it.”

He further warned that Iran’s armed forces had significantly strengthened their capabilities during the ceasefire period.

“Our armed forces have rebuilt and reinforced themselves during the ceasefire in such a way that, should Trump make the mistake of reigniting the war, the consequences for the United States would undoubtedly be far more devastating and bitter than on the first day of the conflict,” Ghalibaf said.

For his part, Field Marshal Asim Munir said, “The government and people of Pakistan extend their best wishes and prayers for the future prosperity and well-being of the Iranian people.”

Emphasizing the honest nature of military professionals, Munir added: “You and I are both soldiers of our nations, and soldiers speak plainly and honestly — not in ambiquity."

He further praised Iran’s leadership, saying: “I am pleased that Iran is being led at this critical time by individuals of intelligence, wisdom, and deep strategic insight.”
