Iran’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned repeated violations of the ceasefire by the United States, stressing that the Islamic Republic “will leave no act of aggression unanswered” and “will not hesitate in defending Iran’s sovereignty.”

In a statement released on Tuesday, the ministry said the “terrorist U.S. military” had continued its illegal and unjustified actions since the ceasefire declared on April 8, 2026, including multiple acts of maritime piracy against Iranian commercial vessels.

According to the statement, U.S. forces committed a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire in the Hormozgan region over the past 48 hours.

Tehran said the attacks occurred while diplomatic efforts mediated by Pakistan were ongoing, adding that the incidents once again demonstrated the “bad faith and unreliability” of the U.S. administration toward Iran, the region, and the international community.

The statement further said that Iran’s deep mistrust of the United States, reflected in its approach across the battlefield and negotiations.

The Foreign Ministry described the reported actions as a clear violation of Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter as well as the April 8 ceasefire agreement, holding the United States fully responsible for any consequences resulting from the escalation.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry emphasized that the Islamic Republic would respond decisively to any hostile act and remains fully committed to defending the country’s territorial integrity and national interests.

Separately, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it had intercepted an MQ-9 drone, an RQ-4 drone, and an F-35 fighter jet involved in violations of the ceasefire. The IRGC warned against any further actions by the “aggressor U.S. military,” stating that Iran reserves the legitimate right to respond.
