Tehran (IP) - The chief of staff of Iran's Armed Forces, in a telephone conversation with the Iraqi Defense Minister, said: "Iran has many capacities and capabilities in various fields, including the fight against terrorism and the defense industry, which can transfer them to Iraq."

Major General Mohammad Bagheri and Thabet Mohammad al-Abbasi, Iraqi Defense Minister, held a telephone conversation on defense cooperation and the fight against terrorism. Bagheri said: "The people and the two countries' armed forces should witness excellent relations with each other, and the officials and commanders should hold consultations at different levels."

Thabet al-Abbasi also said in this telephone conversation: "The government and nation of Iraq will never forget the role of the Islamic Republic in the fight against terrorism and the defeat of ISIS, and we are always grateful to the people and the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

The Minister of Defense of Iraq added: "I thank the Islamic Republic, supported Iraq in the formation of the cabinet, and Iraq's armed forces are ready for any military cooperation with Iran."
