Tehran (IP) - The head of the Iranian Health Ministery Public Relations said that the Social Distancing project against Coronavirus outbreak in Iran is a common procedure in the world.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iran's Ministery of Health and Medical Education Spokesman Kianoosh Jahanpour wrote on his twitter account that both social and physical distancing are two terms concerned with methods of countering contagious diseases, which are common in international protocols and not specifically devised by Iran.

The health ministry spokesman said social or physical distancing is not something new and since coronavirus outbreak in the country, we implemented the project across the country with the approval of the National Task Force to Combat Coronavirus and Iran's President Hassan Rouhani.

He noted that from the beginning of the COVID-19 identification and detecting the first cases in the country, social distancing projects were adopted by the task force and confirmed by the president.

Health Ministry Spokesman, Kianoush Jahanpour in Tuesday’s daily press conference said in the National Mobilization Plan against Corona over 65,540 million people have signed up to the program and screened.

Jahanpour also said that so far, 41,495 people in the country have definitely been infected with the Coronavirus, 2,898 people have died due to the virus and 14,656 have recovered.
