Dubai (IP) - The head coach of Iran's national boxing team expressed optimism that two Iranian national team players would win gold medals in the Asian Championships.

Iran PressIran news: In a telephone interview with Iran Press, Alireza Esteki stated that the Iranian national boxing team had won two bronze medals at the Asian Championships in Dubai, UAE, with eight boxers, and two other boxers had reached the final.

He noted that despite facing difficult draws, Iranian boxers fought strongly against their opponents.

"In the Asian Boxing Championships, except for China and Japan, which were absent, all the boxing powers of the ancient continent were present, and it is gratifying that the Iranian boxers were worthy representatives in the competitions," he said.

"If Meysam Qeshlaqi wins the final game against his opponent today, he will get the Olympic quota," he added.

In the Asian Boxing Championships in the 60kg weight class, Danial Shahbakhsh, the Olympic boxer of Iran, will face Erdenebat Tsendbaatar from Mongolia today in the final match.

Also, Meysam Qeshlaqi, in the 81kg weight class, will have to fight Dilshodbek Ruzmetov of Uzbekistan for a gold medal.

Earlier, Shahin Mousavi and Pouria Amiri won bronze medals in the Asian Boxing Championships in the 75 and over 91 kg weights.
