Iran Press/ Iran News: On Tuesday, June 6, the Nova Kakhovka dam, built during the Soviet era and supplying water to the nuclear power plant on the Crimean peninsula, exploded. The Nova Kakhovka Dam in southern Ukraine is built over the Dnipro River, which separates Ukrainian and Russian forces in the southern Ukrainian war zone.
In a letter to Mykola Polishchuk, head of the Ukrainian Red Cross, Pir-Hossein Kolivand the head of IRCS, added: "Considering the principled positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on a humanitarian perspective, including protecting the lives of innocent people and reducing their suffering, the Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran declares its readiness to provide any assistance to the affected people of that country and to prevent the lives of these people from being endangered."
The Iranian Red Crescent Society is ready to send the necessary relief and biological items to help the people affected by the accident in the south of Ukraine as soon as possible by sending specialized rescue teams, Kolivand underscored.
