FM: Iran has always supported stability in Balkans

Iranian Foreign Minister met with his Serbian counterpart in New York, noting that Iran and Serbia have a geopolitical position in their region, saying: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported peace and stability in the Balkans."

Iran PressAmerica: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Nikola Selakovic, Discussed bilateral relations on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly on Thursday afternoon.

The Serbian Foreign Minister described the exchange of delegations between the two countries under challenging circumstances as a sign of the depth of the relations, stating that the two countries have similar views, positions, and values.

Selakovic described Serbia as a haven for investment, citing the continued growth of the economy.

He also said that the Balkans region needs stability, peace, and tranquility and that Serbia is trying to play a constructive role in this regard.

During the meeting, the Serbian Foreign Minister invited Amir-Abdollahian to attend a meeting commemorating the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade.
