The commission’s secretariat said the returnees entered Afghanistan through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Silk Bridge and Islam Qala border crossings, where they were registered upon arrival.
According to Iran Press correspondent in Kabul, during the same period, 169 families comprising 961 people were transported from the border areas to various provinces across Afghanistan.
The commission said it had also provided approximately 3.8 million Afghanis in cash assistance to 357 returning families. In addition, returning migrants received 143 SIM cards and thousands of food items as part of assistance provided at reception centers.
Medical Services Provided to Returning Migrants
The commission said medical services were provided to approximately 1,100 patients at facilities in Torkham, Islam Qala and Kabul during the same period.
Returning migrants were also given information and guidance on registration procedures, transportation to their respective provinces, access to financial assistance, temporary accommodation and other services available to them, the secretariat said.
The latest figures come amid the continued return of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries, with Afghan authorities and humanitarian agencies working to register arrivals, provide immediate assistance and facilitate their onward transportation and temporary accommodation.
The commission said it would continue providing returning families with assistance and information on the procedures and services available to them as they settle or travel onward to their home provinces.
