Representing First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref, Atabak said the summit would focus on expanding trade and economic relations between Iran and the EAEU, strengthening industrial cooperation with member states, reviewing the implementation of the Iran-EAEU Free Trade Agreement, and utilizing the bloc's economic potential to mitigate the impact of U.S. and Western sanctions.
He noted that since the free trade agreement entered into force, tariffs on more than 8,000 Iranian export items to EAEU member states have been reduced to zero.
Iran has held observer status in the Eurasian Economic Union for the past two years.
Atabak also highlighted the outcomes of the 10th meeting of Iran-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission, saying the two sides agreed to expand bilateral trade.
He added that he briefed Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the commission's results and emphasized the importance of implementing the agreements reached.
