Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Ghasemi said on Wednesday that Europe should not allow third parties opposed to growing ties between Iran and the EU to press ahead with their baseless accusations and planned scenarios to adversely affect ties between Iran and the EU.

Iran news: According to an Iran Press report, categorically rejecting Denmark's accusations against Iran, Ghasemi said the Islamic Republic opposes all forms of terrorism and unequivocally condemns all terrorist attacks. Ghasemi added: “Iran has paid a high price fighting terrorism and Iran is a victim of terrorism.”

Describing the EU as a major trading partner of Iran Ghasemi said, "They have had long-lasting excellent relations in different fields including industry, agriculture, technology, banking and financial affairs. After US withdrawal from the JCPOA and reinstatement of unlawful and unilateral US sanctions against Iran, the world fully understood America's policy, and voiced its support for preserving the JCPOA."

Ghasemi pointedly added: “EU and other members of G4 are not interested in unilateralism, especially of the type Trump favours, and that’s for the same reason that talks between Iran and EU started following US exit from the deal to work out a mechanism to help secure Iran’s benefits.”

Ghasemi also pointed out that the US has done whatever it could to exert pressure on Iran, also tried to intimidate Iran, and issued warnings to companies doing business with Iran, but many companies have continued their business in Iran, in defiance of United States.

Rejecting what was raised on Tuesday by certain Danish officials as baseless, Ghasemi said that data collected proves the baselessness of Denmark's claims

He further clarified it is said that an individual of Iranian origin with Norwegian nationality was due to carry out terrorist attack against Iranian opponents. Such a person is totally imaginary, nameless and unidentified, he went on to say.

Noting that no evidence in this regard has been offered to Iran, he said making unsubstantiated accusations against Iran runs counter to friendly relations, and will not withstand legal and judicial scrutiny. Ghasemi further noted that evidence shows that the US, Zionist regime and their regional puppets are trying to mar Iran-EU relations, just as a second round of US sanctions is about to be imposed.

“We recommend wise and competent Danish authorities who have good ties with Iran to precisely look into the issue, and to carry out an impartial investigation of the matter.”

Bahram Ghasemi also commented on Iran-EU relations on Wednesday October 31, when he said: "Whenever relations between Iran and the European Union begin to expand, invisible hands taking their cue from certain countries go to work, trying to harm these relations. Thus, the Danish government's accusations against Iran, and recalling of Denmark's ambassador from Tehran can all be looked upon from this angle."

It seems that untrue and misleading information has been provided to Denmark by a country outside Europe, with the intention of adversely affecting Iran-EU relations.

Denmark has accused Iran of plotting to kill an Iranian Arab opposition figure on Danish soil, and is calling for the EU to consider action against Tehran. The Iranian government has rejected any involvement in the alleged foiled terror attack.
