Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, has declared that the nation stands "united and resolute" in its readiness to counter any form of military aggression. His remarks come in response to recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the status of a potential attack on Iran.

In a message posted on the social media platform X, Gharibabadi addressed the contradictory nature of Washington's recent threats. "The U.S. says it has 'temporarily' halted an attack on Iran to give a chance for negotiation, but at the same time speaks of readiness for a massive attack at any moment," he stated. "This means calling a threat an opportunity for peace!"

Emphasizing Iran's defensive posture, the senior diplomat stated, "Iran, united and resolute, is ready to counter any military aggression." He further stressed the nation's unwavering determination, adding, "For us, surrender has no meaning; we will either be victorious or martyred."

Gharibabadi concluded his message by quoting Martyr Rajab Beigi: "We are a great nation; write our name in history; from among all colors we have chosen red, and from among all deaths, martyrdom."

His comments follow an announcement by Donald Trump last night claiming he had called off a planned strike against Iran at the request of three Arab countries in the region. Observers note that this is a recurring tactic by Trump, who has previously threatened military action amidst negotiations with Iran, only to cancel or suspend them under various pretexts.
