Tehran (IP) - The Iranian and Syrian officials stated there is a great cooperation between Tehran and Damascus to rebuild the war-ravaged Arab country.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking in Tehran on the sidelines of the 13th International Exhibition of Plastics, Rubber, Machinery, and Equipment, known as 'Iran Plast', Syrian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Suleiman Ghanem stated there is great cooperation between Tehran and Damascus to rebuild Syria.

In an interview with Iran Press on Wednesday morning, Ali Suleiman Ghanem said, "These collaborations are made through signing of contracts for exploration and production programs."

The Syrian Minister pointedly added: "There is also a plan for cooperation in the field of reconstruction in the public and private sectors, as well as training of Syrian technical staff."

Ali Suleiman Ghanem also met and held talks with Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh and Iran's deputy oil minister, Behzad Mohammadi. 

Iranian Oil Minister expressed the Islamic Republic’s readiness to contribute to rebuilding oil and petrochemical industries in the Arab country. 

Zanganeh also mentioned the expansion of cooperation between the two countries as one of the main pillars of the meeting, adding "As more stability returns to Syria, more Iranian companies will take part in the reconstruction process there."

Iran's oil minister also said: "Iranian private sector can play a significant role in the manufacturing of equipment and machinery and also industrial units in the oil, gas and petrochemical sectors of Syria". 

Syrian Minister also paid a visit to South Pars gas field facilities in Asaluyeh, in the southern Iranian province of Bushehr, on Monday. 101/211/219
