Tehran (IP) - Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) released its report on the Ukrainian plane crash.

Iran Press/Iran News: According to Iran's Civil Aviation Organization, the Ukrainian plane crash accident was investigated in the presence of representatives of Ukraine.

"Due to the US sanctions, the necessary equipment was not provided reading the devices in Iran, so initial agreements were reached to read by France technology," the report reads.

Four audio data channels were recorded in the cockpit, including the pilot, co-pilot, pilot speaking to passengers system, and the cockpit surround microphone were restored, and the sound quality of all four audio channels was excellent and understandable the report elaborated.

On January 08, 2020, a passenger plane belonging to Ukrainian Airlines was mistakenly shot down in Iran’s airspace shortly after its takeoff en route to Kyiv. One hundred sixty-seven passengers and nine crew members died in the incident.

The incident happened a few hours after Iran fired dozens of ballistic missiles at a U.S. airbase inside Iraq in retaliation for the assassination of top Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani.

Most of the passengers on the plane were Iranian nationals, and 32 of the passengers on the flight also were from foreign countries, including؛ Canada, Afghanistan, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. 101
