Tehran (IP) – Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman said Iran has defined projects to lift trade exchanges with neighboring countries and expands cooperation with them to reach an acceptable level in the region.

Iran Press/Iran news: Attending his weekly press conference and in response to Iran Press question regarding Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif's trip to Pakistan and reopening the Iran-Pakistan border crossing, Saeed Khatibzadeh stated that well-behaving with neighboring countries is one of Iran's main priorities.

"Several projects have been defined to solve important problems in Iran's borders. We had many active borders in western Iran since we had one in the eastern parts," Khatibzadeh pointed.

Iran-Pakistan passage route will be shortened and expanding borders aims at creating security, peace, and stability, he noted.

Khatibzadeh went on to say that cooperation to expand eastern borders will continue to reach an acceptable trade level in the region.

"Now we have several billion-dollar export and trade exchanges while we have not had this amount in the past," he highlighted.

Tehran continues cooperation with neighboring countries, and it is not limited to just one or two countries, the spokesman added.
