The Israeli military has killed 2 Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, marking the latest deadly incident in a growing series of ceasefire violations. Since the ceasefire came into effect on October 10, at least 236 Palestinians have been killed.

Why it matters:

The ceasefire in Gaza is extremely fragile and facing serious challenges, particularly due to Israel's persistent violations of the ceasefire agreement. The ceasefire is on the brink of collapse, and with each Palestinian killed by the Israeli army, it is moving closer to its unraveling.

Driving the news:

Israel's ceasefire violations and airstrikes have left at least 236 Palestinians dead since the ceasefire went into effect on October 10.

Zoom in:

Two Palestinians, including a teenager, have been killed in attacks by Israeli forces and settlers in the occupied West Bank.

Ahmed Rabhi al-Atrash, a 35-year-old Palestinian, was shot dead by an Israeli settler north of Hebron. The Red Cross said its teams were prevented from providing medical help at the scene and that Israeli forces took the body.

Jameel Hanani, a 17-year-old child, died of his wounds after being shot by Israeli forces in Beit Furik, east of Nablus.

What to watch:

Authorities in Gaza City have recovered at least 502 dead bodies of Palestinians from massive rubble sites so far, as desperate family members continue to search for their missing loved ones.

Gaza’s health and civil defense authorities estimate that around 10,000 people remain buried under the rubble, although some experts believe the true number could be as high as 14,000.

Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 68,858 people and wounded 170,664 since October 2023.
