Iran Press/Iran news: The spokesman of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Behrouz Kamalvandi said on Thursday that Iran intends to strengthen the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA) and push the deal back to its original rail.
Kamalvandi said: "Iran's strategic patience became evident to the international community over the past year," IRNA reported.
"Iran's act is based on the letter of JCPOA as the possibility of withdrawal and breach of the deal has been anticipated." the spokesman added.
Kamalvandi said that Article 26 of JCPOA allows Iran to stop some of its commitments in general or in part if the other parties fail to remain committed to their pledges.
"Iran has taken this measure in response to the US unilateral exit from the deal and restoration of sanctions on Iran," the official said.

He said: "Iran can even launch again the reactor whose pipes have been filled with cement and other countermeasures will be also underway if the other parties do not take fundamental measures during the two-month time."
"If the other parties refer the case to the UN Security Council once again, Iran will be no longer committed to the deal and will take other measures which will announce at the proper time," Kamalvandi said.

Exactly one year after the US unilateral exit from the JCPOA, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday that Iran will give a 60-day moratorium to the state parties to the deal to remedy their breaches and restore Iran's interests enshrined by the international accord.
He said that Iran will suspend selling its enriched uranium and heavy water during the two-month period.

"If the European parties come back to the negotiating table and make compensations during the mentioned time Iran will return to the previous conditions; otherwise it will suspend two more commitments," the president added.
Under the JCPOA, Iran is obliged to send its excess enriched uranium (above 300kg) and its excess heavy water (above 130 tons) to outside the country and is committed to enrich uranium up to 3.67 percent.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also in an interview on Wednesday about the reason for Iran's revision decision on JCPOA said: "the common commission had meetings four times during last year. Countries remaining in the deal have committed to compensate effects of the U.S. withdrawal."

"They admitted in their statements to serve the interests of Iran in operational ways in fields of finance and banking, oil and gas, petrochemical products, transportation, investment, business, etc. The JCPOA remained, but European countries were not that much successful in practical activities," Deputy Foreign Minister continued.
