Rome (IP) - On the occasion of the National Day of Commemoration of Hakim Attar Neyshabouri, a webinar on the commemoration of this Iranian poet and mystic entitled 'An Age with Attar Neyshabouri' was held in collaboration with Iranian cultural attaché office in Italy.

Iran PressEurope: Antonello Sacchetti, Director of the Italian language website for Iranian Cultural and Social News, Mohammad Taghi Amini, Iranian Cultural attaché in Italy, and Savina Zanardo, Italian Iranologist and translator, spoke at the 'An Age with Attar Neyshabouri' webinar.

Every year on the 25th of Farvardin (April 14th), the day of commemoration of 'Farid al-Din Attar Neyshabouri', a famous Iranian poet and mystic, is registered in the calendar of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Attar Neyshabouri's book: 'The Conference of the Birds' is one of the most prominent mystical works in world's literature, and perhaps after Rumi's Masnavi, no work in mystical literature in the Islamic world will reach the importance of 'The Conference of the Birds'.

Mohammad Taghi Amini, Iran's cultural attaché in Italy, said in this webinar: "Attar Neyshabouri is an Iranian poet and mystic of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries AD. The Italians are no strangers to Attar Neyshabouri's works due to the efforts made by several Italian university professors and translators, and that the oldest illustrated version of Attar Neyshabouri's Conference of the Birds is kept in the National Library of Turin."
