Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II's husband and the longest-serving consort of any British monarch, has died at age 99.

Iran Press/Europe: A statement from Buckingham Palace said: "It is with deep sorrow that The Queen has announced the death of her husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

On March 16 he had been released from London's King Edward VII hospital, after being admitted a month before as a "precautionary measure."
