Iran Press/Asia: Mohammad Javad Zarif said upon his arrival at Tbilisi airport: "Talks were held with high-ranking officials of the region to deepen regional and multilateral cooperation."
He added: "The region has gone through difficult conditions and in the new conditions, in addition to consolidating peace, economic and transit cooperation will increase."
Zarif referred to the good relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Georgia and said: "We have long-standing relations with Georgia and we are trying to increase the good fields of cooperation with Georgia."
He pointed to the transit corridor between the regional countries and said: "The south-west corridor ends in Georgia and eventually connects to the Black Sea and the neighboring countries, and we hope this capacity will be used for regional cooperation."
Zarif had previously traveled to Baku, Moscow, and Yerevan and is scheduled to continue his trip to Turkey.
