Iran Press/Middle East: In the 64th week of 'Great March of Return', dozens of Palestinians was injured by live bullets or rubber-coated rounds Friday when Israeli forces attacked hundreds of protesters taking part in the Great March of Return at Gaza-Israel border.

Israeli forces stationed along Gaza borders opened their machine gunfire and fired tear gas canisters toward Palestinians protesting peacefully in various locations to the east of the Strip, Iran Press reported.

A youth was reportedly shot and injured in the foot with a live bullet. Others suffocated due to tear gas inhalation.

Since the Gaza rallies began in March last year, nearly 270 protesters have been killed -- and thousands more wounded -- by Israeli troops deployed near the buffer zone.

Demonstrators demand an end to Israel’s 12-year blockade of the Gaza Strip, which has shattered the coastal enclave’s economy and deprived its two million inhabitants of many basic amenities.
