Majid Akhavan said: “Following the American-Zionist aggression against the civilian infrastructure of Tabriz International Airport and the completion of extensive reconstruction and renovation of the infrastructure, the airport is once again ready to provide aviation services and accept domestic and international flights.”
During the U.S.-Israeli 12-day war of aggression on Iran, various sections of the airport, including the runway, control tower, and passenger terminals, were damaged.
Akhavan said: "Aviation and airport industry experts, through round-the-clock efforts and by utilizing domestic technical capabilities, completed the reconstruction and preparation of this complex in the shortest possible time.”
The airport was previously considered one of the country’s major flight hubs, operating regular domestic flights to destinations such as Tehran, Mashhad, Kish, Shiraz, Bandar Abbas, Isfahan, Ahvaz, Kerman, Qeshm, and Rasht, as well as international flights to destinations including Istanbul, Najaf, Medina, Baku, Izmir, Adana, and Dubai.
He noted that with the reopening of Tabriz Airport, the airport’s flight network will gradually return to normal conditions.
