Neighbors, Iran and Iraq, have signed an agreement to jointly develop oil fields right on the border between the two countries.

Iran Press/Middle East: Iran's minister of petroleum, Bijan Namdar Zangeneh on the sideline of a visit by the Iraqi Oil Minister to the Energy Industries Engineering and Design (EIED) on Sunday said that the two countries have signed an agreement to develop oil fields located on the border between them.

Speaking to reporters, Zangeneh said: "Given that the petrochemical and gas industry in Iraq has not been developed, there is a clear vision for cooperation between the two countries," Iran Press reported.

Pointing to Iran's capabilities in oil, gas, refining and petrochemical industries, Zangeneh reiterated that Tehran is ready to provide expertise in petrochemicals, gas, and oil industries to the Iraqi side.
