Tehran (IP) - Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said Iran would never start a war against any nation while officially inaugurating the 'Salam Terminal' at Imam Khomeini International airport in Tehran.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said that Iran's enemies are fighting against the will of the Iranian nation.

He also said that Iran as a signatory nation of JCPOA has always abided by the multilateral agreement.

The Iranian President also warned that: "No one doubts our legitimacy. Iran's approach in terms of politics, legal affairs and practice have been in such a way that no one slams Iran but they slam the approach of the other side."

He made the remark on Tuesday at the ceremony inaugurating Imam Khomeini International Airport’s (IKIA) Salam Terminal, reported Iran Press.

The Iranian President also went on to say that the statistics of recent months shows the predictable economic growth in the Islamic country. Rouhani also stressed the fact that "Iran won't fight with any nation and the other side consists of inexperienced politicians."

Meanwhile Rouhani warned the one who are on Iran side, are not only Iranian officials but the whole nation of Iran who are united and the other side' s animosity is directly acting against every Iranian individual. Iran's top official further explained that more pressure is being imposed on the social class with the lower income compared with other social classes in Iran however those who are imposing this are by no means considered as successful.

While enemies are claiming that Iran’s development has been stopped in a bid to kill the hope of Iranian people, we are witnessing new developments and growth in Iran’s economy and society despite all pressures, he said.

This is a ‘war of hope and will’, he said, adding that enemies want to destroy the Iranian nation’s hope for the future of the country.

Enemies have ramped up pressure against the Iranian nation and of course, Tehran’s retaliatory measures have also increased, he noted, highlighting, “the Iranian nation will be the victor at the end of this conflict … we will not fight against any nation, our opposition is a group of inexperienced politicians.”

Rouhani noted that Salam Terminal was constructed within two years with the efforts of Iranian engineers which is a great achievement for the country.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani officially inaugurated Imam Khomeini International Airport’s (IKIA) Salam Terminal on Tuesday Morning.

Accompanied by his delegation, Rouhani visited different parts of the terminal before the ceremony.

Salam Terminal has the capacity to handle five million passengers per year and is planned to operate both domestic and international flights.

The terminal is aimed at boosting IKIA’s passenger capacity. Reportedly, plans are underway to build another terminal at the IKIA airport.

Located 30 kilometers southwest of Iran's capital city Tehran, IKIA presently has a passenger handling capacity of around five million per year. However, in fiscal 2017-18, the airport hosted over nine million passengers.

The International airport has been distinguished as the third fastest-growing major airport in the world.

It registered a traffic growth rate of 11.5% in 2017, 3% higher than the global average. It has the biggest share of international flights in Iran and Mehrabad airport the biggest in terms of domestic flights.   213/211/203
