Iranian experts in just seven days overhauled four offshore platforms of the South Pars Gas Field in the Persian Gulf.

Iran Press/Iran news: According to the Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), overhaul operations of platforms in phases 4, 5, 10 and 16 of the supergiant offshore South Pars Gas Field has been completed by Iranian Engineers for development of production capacity to 28 mcm/d of natural gas.

The maintenance operations have been completed ahead of the scheduled plan, the Pars Oil and Gas Company announced, and the offshore platforms are ready to resume their operations, Shana reported.

The operations took 2,000 to 5,000 man/hours to ensure a sustainable and secure gas production and prevent potential production decline, especially in winter months.

South Pars field is the world's largest gas field, shared between Iran and Qatar, covering an area of 3,700 square kilometers of Iran's territorial waters in the Persian Gulf.

The giant reservoir is being developed in 24 phases. 101/211/205
