The joint chief of staff of Iran's armed forces said, the presence of Iranian army’s troops in the shared borders with Afghanistan will help increase the security in those areas.

Iran Press/Iran news: Addressing a conference attended by commanders of Iranian Army's Ground Forces in Tehran, General Bagheri said “the army has been assigned to guard the country’s shared borders with Afghanistan in the past months,” adding that “the army troops’ presence in the borderlines will definitely increase the security in those regions.”

Noting that the neighboring country suffers from some security concerns, which hike the risk of incidents occurring in the shared borders, the commander said “deployment of Army’s Ground Forces in the borders as well as meticulous planning will help us have the safest borders in those [eastern] regions", Mehr News Agency reported. 105
