Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a phone conversation on Tuesday afternoon with Mevlüt Cavu?o?lu hailed Russia-Turkey Sochi agreement on Syria.

Iran Press/Irannews: The foreign ministers of Iran and Turkey Mohammad Javad Zarif and Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu in the phone conversation also have discussed the recent Russia-Turkey agreement on Idlib.

Iran has welcomed an agreement between Russian and Turkish presidents reached at the Sochi summit on Monday, in relation to the Syrian city of Idlib, hoping the agreement would lead to a good result for Idlib.

Recently, Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov emphasised that only the Syrian people can decide the future of their country, stressing the fact that the US behaviour towards Idlib indicates that it wants to protect Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist outfit.

The Russian president Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan  met at a bilateral summit in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

Presidents of Russia and Turkey met Monday to try to come to an agreement over the Syrian's Idlib.

Ankara and Moscow announced yesterday that they had agreed to set up a demilitarized zone along the contact line between Syrian government troops and the armed terrorist groups by October 15. 

The two leaders came up with a joint Russian-Turkish plan to set up a demilitarised zone as a buffer between the Syrian army and the militants in Idlib.

Last Friday,Russian President Vladimir Putin along with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended in a trilateral meeting with Iranian PresidentHassan Rouhani in Tehran to track the political process of the Syrian crisis, on the eve of the liberation of idlib as one of the last areas under the control of terrorists in Syria.

During a trilateral summit, the leaders discussed joint efforts as part of the Astana process and political efforts for finding a lasting solution to the Syrian conflict.

The first of the trilateral summits was held last year in Russia's Black Sea city Sochi on Nov. 22.

The second trilateral summit held in Istanbul .
