Iranian government spokesman Mohammad Bagher Nobakht said in a press conference on Tuesday in Tehran that the current economic situation in the country is better compared to last year.

Iranian government spokesman Mohammad Bagher Nobakht stated that Iran's current economic situation is better than the previous year, because of higher oil prices and improved market conditions in the oil market.

Iranian government spokesman, Nobakht added:  "Fortunately, the amount of oil sales in the first quarter of this year has surpassed all expectations and also we are selling our oil at a higher price compared to last year.

In further remarks Nobakht said:  "Oil sales provide the bulk of Iran's budget. Last year we sold two million and ten thousand barrels of oil, at an average price of $ 55 per barrel.  In the current year, we have sold two million, 550 thousand barrels of oil, at an average price of $ 71 per barrel.

Commenting on the Iran nuclear deal, the JCPOA, Nobakht said: "All signatories to the JCPOA should honour their obligations and commitments under the agreement.

Turning to Ali Akbar Velayati's trip to Moscow, government spokesman, Nobakht said: "The discussions between top adviser and aide to Leader of the Islamic revolution, and senior Russian officials were a follow-up of earlier discussions between the presidents of Iran and Russia, and officials of both countries stressed the need to implement already signed agreements between Tehran and Moscow.
