Tehran (IP) - Regional Emergency Director for the World Health Organization's Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean Richard Brennan answers Iran Press correspondent questions saying information exchanged on fighting against COVID-19 is absolutely vital.

Iran Press/Iran news: Sharing experiences from other countries either in Iran or the other countries is vital, the WHO official noted.

Brennen also stressed that since COVID-19 is the very new disease, the information exchange has been considered as the most successful elements of WHO mission in the last few days

WHO official also explained further to call the WHO plans to fight the disease in the future as providing technical support, the support for procurement at the global level in different ways.

He also said that WHO also can help to counter the misinformation and the mischaracterization of the outbreak in countries such as Iran.

He called WHO as a great advocate for advancing knowledge and engaging Iran's powerful health system with research so that there will be more understanding about the virus and the disease and how to control it effectively.

The Coronavirus first emerged in China late last year and is now spreading in Europe, Americas and across the Middle East, sparking fears of a global pandemic.

100,000 people have been infected worldwide and more than 3,000 people lost their life.
