Hundreds of primary school students in Bauchi State, northeastern Nigeria, took part in a demonstration to mark the beginning of Rabi’ al-Awwal, the Islamic month in which Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born.

During the demonstration, the students also paid tribute to children at Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab, Iran, who were killed by the U.S. army while attending classes, vowing that the victims would never be forgotten.

Carrying Iranian flags, photographs and placards referring to the attack on the Minab school, the students marched through major streets in Bauchi, chanting praises of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and slogans in support of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Speaking to Iran Press, one of the students, Muslim Nasir Hassan, called on the international community to ensure justice for the children martyred in Minab.

“Our hearts are with the innocent children of Minab school who were killed. They were children like us who deserved to live, play and dream about their future. Their memory will remain in our hearts forever,” he said.

Another student, Haidar Hassan, said the children would continue to speak about the victims and called for justice.

“We will continue to talk about the children of Minab. We call on the international community to ensure justice for them,” he said.

The demonstration combined religious celebrations marking Rabi’ al-Awwal with a message of solidarity and remembrance for the Iranian children martyred in the Minab school attack.
