Regional Emergency Director for the World Health Organization's Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, Richard Brennan stated that through sharing lessons between Iranian health officials and the world this infectious disease could be managed.

Iran Press/Iran news:  Regional Emergency Director for World Health Organization's Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean Richard Brennan on the sidelines of a conference on Iran’s preventive and containment measures regarding Coronavirus outbreak said: "

I think we have to look at the current outbreak within the global context, currently, the coronavirus is a new disease it's a new virus we are all learning about how to best manage that disease. collectively we are learning about the disease, and we are learning how best to control it."

"We have brought a delegation from the World Health Organization, the Chinese center for disease control and from Germany to meet with the health officials here and other authorities in Iran over the last few days." WHO official added. 

Richard Brennan went on to say: "I think we had some very productive discussions about how the disease is impacting the Iranian community we have shared a lot of lessons we have learned from elsewhere and our Iranians colleagues have shared with us a lot of lessons they have learned from managing the disease here."

"I think the campaign the government is launching over the next couple of days is really based on a lot of lessons that we have all learned and I think priorities are appropriate and I think if implemented at the scale required we will have a very good opportunity to get top of the disease." He concluded.
