Tehran (IP) - The closing ceremony of 5th Arbaeen International Award with the presence of Iranian first vice president is underway.

Iran Press /Iran News: The closing ceremony of the 5th Arbaeen International Award with the presence of Iranian first vice president, Eshaq Jahangiri,  Minister of culture and Islamic guidance, Seyyed Abbas Salehi, and officials from different religious and cultural organizations is underway.

The Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) headquartered in Tehran is hosting the ceremony.

Officials from different religious and cultural organizations as well as ambassadors of the countries have participated in the contest.

ICRO has organized the Arabeen Award since 2014 with the aim of reflecting the manifestations of this international religious event to the world.

The establishing aim of this contest is based on the fact that words cannot convey the greatness of a message, the best communication medium would be the language of art. So holding the international award annually in the categories of photos, videos, and travelogues, with the aim of spreading the message of Arbaeen and Ashura is a positive pace.

Arbaeen, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (AS) every year in which a huge crowd of Shias flock to the Iraqi city of Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to perform mourning rites.
