Iran Press/Iran news: President Hassan Rouhani on Monday gave a new shot in the arm to Iran's manufacturing and production sector by ordering all government departments and ministries to take serious steps to boost manufacturing production, to create jobs, to remove unnecessary bureaucracy and obstacles to investment, and to do more to attract investments from Iranians living abroad.

President Rouhani also ordered the cultural heritage, handicrafts and tourism organisation to do more to attract foreign tourists this summer, and ordered the agricultural ministry to make Iran self-sufficient in all major agricultural crops, Iran Press reported.

Rouhani said more crops should be cultivated internally, and if there is a need, agricultural produce should be imported from neighbouring countries.

The President also ordered the ministry of education and the ministry of science, research and technology to reduce the teaching of purely theoretical subjects, and to increase the teaching of practical skills, and skills useful for jobs and industry, ordering all educational establishments to teach more practical skills and training.
