The western Iranian province of Lorestan has managed to register and include crafting and playing of Kamancheh, a musical instrument, on UNESCO’s cultural heritage list in a joint action with the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking with IranPress news agency, Director General of cultural heritage, handicrafts, and tourism organization of Lorestan province, Seyyed Amin Ghasemi said: "Lorestan province is well-known in the field of culture and arts."

Ghasemi continued: "The province managed to register and include Kamancheh – a bowed string musical instrument – in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list, in a joint initiative with the Republic of Azerbaijan."

Mentioning the excellent services available to foreign tourists who visit Lorestan, he said: "More than 2,100 foreign tourists have traveled to Lorestan province during 2018."

Falak-ol-Aflak Castle attracts many tourists from different countries.

Falak-ol-Aflak Castle, situated on the top of a large hill with the same name within the city of Khorramabad, the regional capital of Lorestan province, covers an area of 5,300 square meters (57,000 sq ft), and is considered a beautiful historical attraction of the city of Khorramabad.

Lorestan province is located in western Iran, in the Zagros Mountains, with many beautiful natural and historic sites for tourists to visit.   104/211/209
