CDC official: We do expect more cases of Coronavirus

US President Trump has claimed that the risk to the American people from the virus “remains very low”, but the principal deputy director for the US Centers of Disease Control and Prevention warned the US should expect to see more cases of Coronavirus.

Iran Press/America: President Donald Trump said at a news conference on Wednesday that the United States would spend “whatever is appropriate” to combat the disease.

Referring to the number of infected American people, he said at the White House: “Of the 15 people … eight of them have returned to their homes, to stay at their homes until they’re fully recovered. One is in the hospital. And five have fully recovered. And one we think is in pretty good shape,” Reuters reported.

This is while The Washington Post reported that a new case of Coronavirus was confirmed in the United States on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 60.

Also, reportedly masks in the US are becoming scarce and some pharmacies sell a maximum of 4 masks to people.

Trump also said that Vice President Mike Pence will be in charge of the US response to the Coronavirus outbreak.

CDC official: "We do expect more cases" of Coronavirus

According to CNN, Principal deputy director for the US Centers of Disease Control and Prevention Anne Schuchat said the US should expect to see more cases of Coronavirus.

Schuchat urged Americans to prepare for the virus as well as schools and businesses.

"Tt's the perfect time for businesses, health care systems, universities, and schools to look at their pandemic preparedness plans, dust them off, and make sure that they're ready," she said.

She said the future is uncertain, but assured the public that steps have been taken to prepare for such outbreaks.
