Riyadh (IP) - The Economy Ministers of Iran and Oman, meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, have underscored the importance of renewing joint customs and investment agreements between the two nations.

Iran Press/ West Asia: During discussions between Said bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Saqri, Oman's Minister of Economy, and Ehsan Khandouzi, Iran's Economy Minister, on the sidelines of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) meeting in Riyadh, new customs and investment accords were signed.

According to Shada, Khandouzi welcomed Oman's commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation with Tehran and expressed Iran's interest in updating existing MoUs on customs and investment.

Oman has agreed to provide Iran with a list of potential investors within the coming week. Both countries have also committed to removing obstacles to joint investments.

A joint committee will be established promptly to address technical cooperation matters, with plans to finalize arrangements during Iran's Minister of Economy's inaugural visit to Muscat.

Minister Al Saqri expressed satisfaction with Oman's efforts to strengthen ties with Iran and stressed the need for swift implementation of existing agreements between the two nations.

During a recent visit by Oman's Sultan to Iran, an investment agreement was signed. Both countries have pledged support for investments, with the agreement passing through stages in the Omani Parliament before being ratified by both parties.
