Tehran (IP) - In a meeting in Tehran, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Cuban Minister of Transportation discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in maritime, air and rail transportation.

Iran PressIran news: Mehrdad Bazarpash, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a meeting with Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, the Minister of Transportation of Cuba and the accompanying delegation, pointed to past agreements between the two countries which have not yet been implemented, adding: "In the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, the port sector is emphasized by Iran, so that a logistics centers or warehouses in Iran's ports are available to Cuba for the goods depot."

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran added: "Iran's ports have a suitable capacity for sea traffic, which can create a bond of sisterhood between the two main ports of the two sides, and we can also have a joint commission for this category."

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development also suggested to the Cuban authorities to use the capacity of Iranian companies such as Pars Wagon and Mapna for the construction and repair of locomotives in the railway sector.

The Cuban minister also stated that the purpose of this visit was to follow up on agreements reached between the two countries in the past and to plan for new projects.

The Saturday meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in the fields of maritime, air, and rail transportation between Iran and Cuba. 219
