Iran Press/ West Asia: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani who traveled to Syria today at the head of a high-level delegation met with the President of Syria Bashar al-Asad.
In this meeting, bilateral relations between Syria and Bahrain and ways to develop relations in various fields were discussed in line with the interests of the two countries.
The two sides also reviewed the preparations and efforts of Bahrain for the successful hosting of the Arab Summit, which is scheduled to be held in Bahrain soon, as well as the most important issues related to the agenda of this summit.
In this meeting, Assad emphasized strengthening Arab solidarity and joint action to achieve regional stability in the shadow of world events and developments.
Before meeting with Assad, al-Ziyani also met with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Mekdad to discuss bilateral relations. The two sides emphasized the need to strengthen relations for the benefit of the two countries and nations.
The foreign ministers of Bahrain and Syria reviewed the preparations for the 33rd Arab League summit and emphasized that this summit should support the Arab joint action process and strengthen the Arab countries' ability to face various challenges.
Last March, the President of Syria received an official invitation from Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, to participate in the 33rd round of the Arab Summit, which is scheduled to be held on May 16 in Manama.
Before traveling to Syria, Al-Ziyani went to Beirut and met with Lebanese officials, including Najib Mikati, the Prime Minister of Lebanon, and discussed the latest developments in the region. 219
