Hatay (IP)-The city of Hatay is the most damaged area due to the terrible earthquake in the south of Türkiye.

Iran PressAsia:  A 7.7-magnitude quake rocked Türkiye and Syria on February 6, killing nearly 47,000 people, now, in both countries. According to IranPress, the earthquake has turned the city of Hatay into ruins and needs complete reconstruction.

Speaking to IranPress in front of a ruined building, a Hatay resident said, "We pulled out a few people alive from under the rubble of the building, and now there is no one left."

Another resident said, "My brother was here for a wedding ceremony. Unfortunately, he died due to the earthquake. It is miserable."

The earthquake caused extensive damage to the residential areas and infrastructure of southern Türkiye.

In addition to assisting in the removal of debris, Iran also provides medical services to the victims. Iran's Army Ground Forces have established a field hospital in the city of Adiyaman.

While visiting the field hospital, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu appreciated Iran's assistance to the earthquake-affected people of Türkiye.
