The Iranian delegation was headed by Mohammad Atabak, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, while the Pakistani side was led by Jam Kamal Khan, Minister of Commerce.
During the opening ceremony, Jam Kamal Khan reaffirmed the Pakistani government's firm resolve to expand and deepen economic and commercial cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Highlighting the vast potential of both countries in areas such as trade, energy, transport, agriculture, and investment, the Pakistani Commerce Minister stated that Islamabad is committed to removing existing barriers, facilitating bilateral trade, and enhancing the overall volume of economic exchanges with Tehran.
In his address, Mohammad Atabak, Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, emphasised the importance of holding regular sessions of the Joint Economic Committee as an effective mechanism for fostering cooperation. He pointed to the substantial economic and industrial capacities of both countries and identified the expansion of trade ties, joint investment, development of transport infrastructure, facilitation of business activities for economic operators, and leveraging the capabilities of the private sector as key priorities for collaboration.
