During a meeting with NOC President Mahmoud Khosravi-Vafa, the ambassador expressed deep condolences over the recent tragic events and reaffirmed Japan's full support to ensure the smooth participation of Iran's sports delegation at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
He noted that Iran's delegation, with over 300 athletes expected, will be one of the largest at the Games.
The Iranian side highlighted the unique logistical challenges of the Aichi-Nagoya Games, including the absence of a single Athletes' Village, and sought comprehensive cooperation from the Japanese Embassy and the Organizing Committee to ensure a trouble-free dispatch of the Iranian contingent.
