Tehran (IP) - The regional director of the UNICEF office calls Iran and UNICEF close partners.

Iran PressIran news: "We have excellent cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran," Ted Chaiban, the Regional Director of UNICEF Office in the Middle East and North Africa, said in a meeting with some of Iran's Health Ministry officials on Tuesday.

He thanked Iran's providing of "access at the highest level", cooperation on a range of issues, from primary health care, including immunization to nutrition, to the crucial area of reaching out to the families.

Chaiban said Iran and UNICEF have had cooperation on having dialogue and education, adding: "There are a lot of issues that need to be addressed to work on, like the non-communicable diseases that are about behavior and the best way to address behavior issues is to work with families and children early on, including issues of mental health."

"I think it's been a very vibrant relationship which will continue into the future and the purpose of my trip is to focus on that cooperation to make sure that we continue to find ways to support child rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran," the UNICEF official added.

"Iran puts the families and children in the center of its developments and that's why UNICEF and Iran are such close partners," he concluded.
