Tehran (IP) - According to the latest statistics provided by Iran’s health ministry, the number of daily deaths due to COVID-19 has decreased for the 4th consecutive day.

Iran Press/Iran News: The Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health, Sima Sadat Lari said on Saturday that so far, 496,253 people in the country have been infected with the coronavirus, and 403,950 of the total infected people have recovered.

According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to October 10, 2020, 3,875 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed, out of whom 1,273 of patients were hospitalized, added Lari.

She said that in the past 24 hours, 195 COVID-19 patients have lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 28,293.

4,439 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition, noted the spokeswoman.

"So far, 4,284,413 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted," the health ministry spokeswoman noted.

She pointed out that provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, East Azarbaijan, South Khorasan, Semnan, Qazvin, Lorestan, Ardabil, Khuzestan, Kermanshah, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Gilan, Bushehr, Zanjan, Ilam, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Alborz, West Azarbaijan, Markazi, Kerman, North Khorasan, Hamadan, and Yazd are regarded as red zones.

According to the health ministry spokeswoman, provinces of Kurdistan, Hormozgan, Fars, and Golestan are on alert.
