The statement declared that in the early minutes of Wednesday, under the pretext of a helicopter crash belonging to its "terrorist army" over the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. regime carried out savage attacks on areas in the south of the country. The Ministry described this as a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and the fundamental principle of the "prohibition of the use of force" in international relations, stating that the U.S. ruling administration has once again demonstrated its criminal and warmongering nature with these aggressions.
In response to the U.S. military aggression against Iran and the blatant violation of the country's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran targeted the bases and assets of the U.S. in the region that were the source of these attacks with severe blows.
While strongly condemning the U.S. crime of military aggression against Iran, the Ministry once again reminded all countries in the region, especially the countries on the southern coast of the Persian Gulf, of their legal and moral responsibility to prevent the use of their territory and facilities by the U.S. "terrorist army" and the Zionist regime. This includes preventing them from designing, organizing, executing, and supporting aggressive actions against Iran. The statement warned that Iran will not hesitate in exercising its inherent right to self-defense, including by targeting the origins of attacks and the logistics bases used for aggressive operations against Iran.
The Ministry also underscored the responsibility of the United Nations, particularly the Security Council and the Secretary-General, to safeguard international peace and security and to hold aggressors accountable.
