In the early hours of Wednesday, 10 June 2026, the U.S. regime launched brutal attacks against areas in the south of the country, using as a pretext the crash of an Apache helicopter belonging to its terrorist army over the Strait of Hormuz on Monday night.
These attacks constitute a blatant violation of the United Nations Charter, particularly Article 2(4), and of the fundamental principle prohibiting the use of force in international relations. Through these acts of aggression, the ruling establishment in the United States has once again demonstrated its criminal and warmongering nature.
In response to the U.S. military aggression against Iran and its clear violation of our country’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, the powerful Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in exercise of their inherent right of legitimate self-defense, delivered heavy blows to U.S. bases and assets in the region that had served as the source of these attacks.
While strongly condemning the U.S. crime of military aggression against Iran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again recalls the legal and moral responsibility of all countries in the region, especially those located along the southern shores of the Persian Gulf, to prevent any use by the terrorist U.S. military and the Zionist regime of their territory or facilities for the planning, organization, execution, or support of aggressive acts against Iran. It warns that the Islamic Republic of Iran, in exercising its inherent right of self-defense, including by targeting the origin of attacks as well as the bases and logistical facilities used to carry out and support acts of aggression against Iran, will not hesitate.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran also once again underscores the responsibility of the United Nations, particularly its Security Council and the Secretary-General, to safeguard international peace and security and to hold the aggressing parties accountable.
