Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that he held a detailed telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Thursday, during which the Iranian President expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s unwavering support during difficult times.

Addressing the National Assembly on Friday, the Prime Minister said that President Pezeshkian thanked the Government of Pakistan, the people of Pakistan, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their steadfast solidarity with Iran. He added that Pakistan has always stood by its brotherly neighbor and will continue to support peace, stability, and cooperation in the region.

Shehbaz Sharif informed the House that he extended an invitation to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to visit Pakistan. He said the people of Pakistan are eager to demonstrate to the world that Pakistan and Iran are not merely neighboring countries, but brotherly Islamic nations bound by deep historical, cultural, and religious ties.

According to the Prime Minister, President Pezeshkian accepted the invitation and assured him that he would visit Pakistan at the earliest opportunity. The Prime Minister further announced that a high-level Pakistani delegation will travel to Iran on July 3 and 4.

He stated that the delegation will participate in the funeral ceremonies of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and convey the condolences, solidarity, and support of the Government and people of Pakistan to the Iranian nation.
